PART 1
Step into the elemental landscape of Autumn through the healing wisdom of Sowa Rigpa, guided by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang. Autumn is linked to the lungs and large intestine—organs governed by the metal element—and is a time when we are especially sensitive to dryness, imbalance, and restlessness. Dr. Nida shares practical ways to strengthen these organs, restore balance, and strengthen stability as we move into the colder months. Weaving together traditional medical teachings and Buddhist philosophy, this session offers timeless and practical tools to preserve vitality and emotional well-being in this season of change and harvest.

PART 2
Join Dr. Edward Coughlin, AP, DOM for a hands-on exploration of Autumn’s herbal allies. This workshop introduces plants and medicinal formulas that protect the lungs, ease dryness, and strengthen the immune system as the season turns colder and windier. Edward offers seasonal dietary guidance introducing herbs that are especially supportive in Autumn—ideal for home gardens and everyday wellness.

PART 3
Join Liz Sung for a season-centered session of meditation and Tibetan yoga designed to gently cool excess inner heat to manage the sensitivity of Autumn’s shifting energy.  Through guided meditation, self-reflection prompts, and a curated Tibetan yoga practice, we’ll work on supporting the lungs and respiratory function, calm restlessness, and ease the emotional heaviness that can surface this time of year.

Finding Inner Light in the Dark with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang

In today's world of constant stimulation and endless distractions, we often struggle with having the physical and mental space to go deeper into our spiritual development.

The Dark Retreat (Tibetan: མུན་མཚམས། mun tsham) is an advanced Dzogchen togal practice where one spends a specified amount of time in complete darkness. This ancient Tibetan tradition is one of the most rare and profound methods for self-realization. This method was practiced by masters and yogis for generations, with specific instructions and teachings passed down through an unbroken lineage. By completely removing light, we awaken our own innate, powerful potential for self healing and inner clarity.

Dr. Nida Chenagtsang will give us an introduction to the esoteric and secret tradition of the Dark Retreat in the Yuthok Nyingthig as transmitted to him by his precious Dzogchen and Dark Retreat guru, Yogi Karjid Koolo Rinpoche.
